Front Covers with Follicle #FlashBackFriday

Earlier this year, hubby and I had the pleasure of being magazine cover stars for a day!! As (extremely) proud ambassadors for the incredible salon Follicle Hair Atelier, (find their website here.) we were part of a big group of Follicle ambassadors, stylists and employees who were all dressed up, dolled up and dapper for the larger than life 'Star Struck' front cover of the online POLS magazine for their March/April 2015 edition. POLS is published by the online platform called Issue that hosts a wonderful variety of online glossies and editorials of varying content and topics.
Here pictured below is the whole lot of us, all 34 proudly posing on the FRONT COVER of Pols online magazine as part of team Follicle and feeling rather sublime in the glitz and glamour of it all!
Donavin Lovell (photographer) did a particularly great job capturing this crazy bunch of eccentrics and being able to share the essence of all of us onto the digital page.
On following pages in this edition of Pols magazine, each of the individual Follicle ambassadors were introduced (I particularly love these mad shots of us all) and also the wonderful sponsors who made it all possible!! The elegant Mercia van der Walt and her team from House of Superior Clothing (Twitter @HSC_Pretoria), had each of us girls fitted and looking fabulous in their magnificent gowns, whilst the gents were all devilishly dressed by Smart Guy in Centurion, hubba hubba!
Juanita Velts, Magdie Raats, Timo Crane, Marco Spaumer, Anna Wood,
Tertius van Heerden, Nicolaas van der Walt, Ferdinand and Diani Gernandt, Izaan Steenkamp
Here are some 'behind the scenes' moments of the team getting pampered and lacquered into glam gorgeous cover stars - that was a feat in itself! I adore this picture of Hannes Greyling painting my face and the beautiful Shannon Gurtler getting a grip on my luscious Strands of Love extensions. (Boy, do I miss my mad red hair *sigh*) I look so completely content, and why shouldn't I? The makeup chair really is one of my favourite places, I could totally fall asleep while team Follicle turns me into a beautifully 'enhanced' version of myself!

It was like a manic hustling beez' nest in the dressing room as all 34 of us tried to get ready and radiant for the camera. The cover shoot took place on the stage of the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace, complete with exquisite stage lighting and theatricality.

Hubby, Ferdinand Gernandt looked incredibly handsome in his suit from Smart Guy, it's always fun to play dress up together. But equally enjoyable to just cool down over drinks with the gang at Hooters afterwards, lol! :)
Here below I am pictured with Walter Wurth from Follicle Hair Atelier and Janine Snyders, the Editor in Chief of Pols Magazine.

We are thrilled to be continuing our ambassadorships and friendships with the
wonderful Follicle Hair Atelier team into a bright new year of 2016! Go and like their Facebook Page and follow them on Twitter @FollicleH, they have an amazing Follicle On The Move team as well, who'll travel to your event to style and 'glamify' right on site.

Also go and follow Pols Magazine's FB Page here, or on Twitter @Pols_Mag  and subscribe to the magazine on the Issue online platform. It's free, it's easy and it's online!

Here's to sharing more of the glimmer and glitter of all that I get up to with all of you!

Messing with MakeUp #FlashbackFriday

Always fun to flashback on Fridays and remember some of the fun work/projects I have been blessed with in the past. So I thought I would show you some pics from a shoot I did with my phenomenal sister Jacky Joubert at The Playroom. We played around with a few different 'looks' of a beauty shoot; I did my own make-up (interesting fact: coffee granules work really great as dirt!) and photographer Jacky worked her magic. (Email her at jackyjoubert13@gmail.com for bookings and rates)
Here are the results... Enjoy x

Have a fantastic weekend all, chat soon.

My Hair Haven #MeMoments

Last week, I finally found my follicles firmly planted in the Follicle Hair Atelier in Brooklyn... Wow, what a pamper!

I really have discovered my beauty haven and I can't be happier.

Between Walter and Hannes, I was made to feel like a queen from the minute I walked in, until the moment I left. Everyone on the Follicle team just jump to make you feel right at home, to brainstorm styling ideas together and to have you walk out completely satisfied.

I saw it not only in the way I was treated, but also the two 10 year old boys completely chuffed with their new 'gent' cuts and having fun with the Follicle mascot - the goldfish named Follie. I saw it with a male law student from Potch, coming in begrudgingly to cut his long golden 'Samson' locks and walking out a happy customer with a shorter, sophisticated yet still suave look. And also with an old friend of mine who happened to walk in for some advice on extensions for her sister's wedding in two weeks; and how she was guided to a choice that suits her lifestyle, her hair's health and her pocket.

And I just love my stylist Cornel, she is so passionate about what she does, loves every minute of it and works magic with colour, cut and styling.

Look at the lovely styling she did for me for the Opening evening of Bread and Wine - an Easter Musical that evening. Hannes even gave me a 'hot pink' lip for the occasion! I am so lucky to be an ambassador for this brand and can honestly say I wouldn't go anywhere else....

I had a very special weekend, sharing in the portrayal of a very special Easter story with special people. And I hope that today, you all enjoy a wonderful Family Day!

Have a great week,

Clowning Around with The Playroom #FlashbackFriday

It's a photographic flashback today, to a shoot with photographer Jacky Joubert (my wonderfully talented sister) from The Playroom, fabulous make-up artist Gerlia Groenewald and my friend and male model for the day Jarryd Nurden. We had so much fun on this shoot and I just love these shots, they are some of my favourites.
Happy Friday everyone! Have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you at our Broadway Performance Showcase Experience performances at the Atterbury Theatre tonight and tomorrow! Tickets here

Follicle Hair Atelier #FanClub

I am thrilled to officially announce that I am now an ambassador for the wonderful Follicle Hair Atelier, a full service salon (hair, nails, make-up), located in the Waterkloof Corner Centre in Main Road, Brooklyn.
(Follow the high-lighted link to their website for info)

With a fabulous wooden 'kitchen' table in the centre of the salon creating a stylish 'homey' feel and a perfect social atmosphere, the salon is not only gorgeous - it makes you want to go for a haircut just because it feels like you're spending a wonderfully cozy morning with friends over coffee.
And the stylists are all sought-after and superb. They not only style in the salon, but have 'mobile' teams called "Follicle on the Move", who work on weddings, music videos, fashion shoots and film sets. (A recent notable project the upcoming film, Forsaken which wrapped production last week.)

The Follicle Power Team: Walter, Glen and Cornel
Besides being fabulous and brilliant at what they do, they also do incredible charity work through their "Follicle Care Program" and I am most excited to become part of this initiative. One of their projects from last year, the Tutu Drive will be repeated this year and I just love the idea of it. Twelve teenage girls from the Jacaranda Children's Home get to experience what it's like to be part of a real professional photo shoot. Not only do they get their hair, nails and make-up done by Follicle... but fashion clothing is sponsored by the community, their looks are styled by the Follicle Ambassadors and they have a whole session with a pro photographer making them feel like a million dollars. So special!
Follicle is also planning a rooftop concert event in June and will be auctioning off the hot male ambassadors in the month of August - so watch this space!

Follicle even offers a variety of hands-on workshops in the line of styling and beauty, and I for one can't wait to take part in these. What girl wouldn't want to experience a blow-dry boot-camp or an iron-styling technique workshop.... bring it on! (Such a cool idea for hen's nights/ kitchen teas/ birthdays etc

I am truly excited to be associated with and supporting this great brand and company.

Thank you so much Follicle for bringing me onto your team, I am really excited for all that lies ahead!

I'm definitely part of the Follicle #FanClub!
