It's Flashback Friday again and I came across these great pics from a commercial I shot years ago for Cosmote, the largest mobile network operator in Greece.
It was a very large commercial produced by Foss Productions and shot over several days, all in the same location. We filmed in a closed-off street in Johannesburg, where each day the team turned the street into a whole new fantasy world for each of the 4 lead characters; a romantic 'love in the air' couples everywhere scene; an awesome night-club party scene in the street; a full on winter-wonderland-snow-filled skiing world and a huge movie set scene - complete with cowboys, can-can girls, aliens, cops and robbers, a bus exploding, guns firing and stunt people jumping off of buildings, through windows and being set on fire! It was awesome!!
I was involved in the all night shoot of the 'party scene' and froze my tushi off dancing in a sequined mini all night, and I also got to play a can-can girl and watch all the crazy stunt men do their thing, it was epic. I'd love to do some stunt work, I love the adrenaline rush and to learn the skills it takes to 'pretend' fall/shoot/fight for several takes in a row! All in a day's work 'ey!
It's Friday, enjoy the weekend peeps!!

FADCreationS Mentorship Program #Projects
The program is designed to assist young talented and upcoming artists/performers to bridge the gap from being an amateur to becoming a young professional, making well-informed subject, study and career choices that lead them closer to their ultimate goals and to find their feet in the ever-changing entertainment industry.

Our very first mentorship candidate, Morne Vogel has recently moved to New York and has started his studies at the The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts with a bright and promising future ahead of him. He is an extremely talented and brilliant actor and writer, we are so excited for him! Read more about him here.
Let me introduce you to our current students:
Louri Rootman is an avid songwriter, vocalist and actress. She is building towards a future in musical theatre and we just love her quirky nature.
Tyler Gossayn is a gorgeous model, dancer and actress. She recently completed a summer course at The New York Film Academy and has returned even more determined to realize her goal of becoming a successful actress and performing artist.

Mongene Stoffberg is an extremely talented dancer and actress, also exploring her vocal ability in order to pursue a future career in musical theatre. She is the most pro-active girl I know, with so much passion for the arts.
Jaydee Freeman has a great voice and creates his very own original material on his guitar. A singer-songwriter and also an actor, he has so much going for him. This boy is going places.
Lourens Koekemoer is a determined young actor who knows exactly where he is headed. He is not only talented but has a great sense of determination and drive with firm goals in place, which I have no doubt he will achieve with great success.
Savannah Schutte is an already established vocalist performing at high profile events and is currently working on her own material, building towards a fresh new sound. She is wonderfully talented and beautiful to boot.
Michaela Hilder is the most creative and ambitious young girl I have ever come across. A dancer and actress, she is determined to build towards her exciting future in the entertainment industry.
Roelien Prinsloo, already a working actress and performer, has the best sense of humour and buckets full of perseverance. She is a brilliant actress and is about to make a lot of people sit up and take notice.
The Mentorship Program includes a full photo shoot with styled images that are finally used on the branded website created for each candidate. This weekend we shot three of our girls in studio at Iris.Grace Photography in Johannesburg and it was huge amounts of fun!
Below are some 'behind the scenes' images and video.
The FADCreationS Mentorship program is aimed at giving these talented artists a step in the industry 'door' and give them the resources, advice and input they require to get them closer to their goals. It is extremely rewarding to see their growth and watch them transform into capable, well-prepared and professional young artists.
Hopefully I will be posting about all of their successes and adventures very soon!

Follicle Atelier Promo Shoot #BehindTheScenes
And do not let the name fool you, 'hair' is definitely not the only thing they get their expert hands on!
Follicle recently underwent a full salon 'make-over' and expansion, while hardly skipping a beat with serving their clientele! They will be holding an official Cocktail Re-launch Party on Wednesday 1 October at 18h00 with the whole of the Waterkloof Corner Centre (where they are situated) transformed into evening markets, wine fares with wine testing, musical concerts (starts at 19h30), stores staying open until 22h00 and a whole bunch of high-profile VIP ambassadors milling about wearing Jenni Button and Arthur Kaplan for the evening!
The salon was already offering not only hair treatments, colour, cuts and styling but also a glam nail section and expert make-up service in-salon for pre-events, as well as 'on-the-move' at any function or film set. But NOW they have also partnered with the gorgeous Rococo Boutique next door which carries exquisite garments as well as the wonderful Stikki wooden accessory brand; they have added a male barber section and the Follicle 'Powder Room' which offers every beauty treatment and pamper you can think of! The salon is gorgeously roomy and oh-so-stylish, the service is impeccable and their passion for what they do is palpable.
Wow, I know I wax lyrical about them a lot, but really - it's impossible not to!
Not only is it a, wait for it... Jenni Button! (swoon), it is a one-of-a-kind 'once off' design and even without any prior fittings, it draped like a custom made glove on me!
I was only really required for a few seconds of footage, yet I was pampered and styled like a fashion queen by both Hannes Greyling and Danielle Erasmus. The entire Follicle team were on site buzzing like bees and fussing over all the brand ambassadors ensuring the shoot ran flawlessly.
Hubby Ferdinand was filmed having a gent's cut done by the brand new stylist Shannon, and another new addition to the team is the handsome (and I'm told very talented) Shane.
Two's A Company Productions is the fresh new production company who filmed all the material of the day and they made everything run so seamlessly and smooth. It was great to see all the high-profile ambassadors from every sphere of industry come through to support the Follicle team in this way. Here is a little sneak-peak video of the shoot...
What a fab day of fun, I can not wait to see the final product!

#SCARS Promo Photoshoot #BehindTheScenes
If you don't know about our #SCARS film project yet, where have you been?
(Read more here and watch the teaser trailer video.)
#SCARS is a teen adventure film being developed by FADCreations in partnership with The Smash Hit Company and is a film about 4 teenagers who discover they have two things in common, superpowers and one sinister neighbourhood mom. The film is currently in the early stages of conceptualising and pre-production, while the final details of financier investment and budgeting are being finalized.
And so, a few days ago we had a ridiculous amount of fun shooting some promotional shots for the film, which will be edited into posters and marketing material for the initial campaign.
We are blessed with incredible people on the team. All the characters' hair and make up was crafted and perfected by the incredibly talented team from Follicle Hair Atelier, including the detailed special effects make up. The fabulous photographer for the two day shoot was Eben Liebenberg from Photo Elements, and the styling was meticulously mastered by Reg Hart.
I am really excited to see what the creative minds at Fire Cherry Creative Branding will come up with when they get their hands on the raw images.
I can not wait to start filming on this project, but I loved getting a small taste for my sly character Vanessa during this shoot. The 4 lead teen characters were photographed namely Shane, Ariana, Chloe and Tshepo, we also shot images of Sophie and Cain, two pivotal supporting characters.
Once we have the official shots, I will share them with you guys. In the mean time, here are some more behind the scenes moments and videos from the shoot.
If you would like to get involved with this project or would like more info about this investment opportunity, go and check out the website or contact Ferdinand at info@fadcreations.co.za.

Bush Breakaway #TerrificTravels
Finally hubby and I got to take a mini break and literally unplug from the world for a few days.
How wonderful to be blessed by the invitation from our friends the Prinsloo's to visit a private game lodge called Goro in the wonderful bush veld in Vivo last week.
5 Days of gorgeous accommodation, camp fires and wild life, hunting and fishing, game drives, great food and great company. Bliss.
As it happens, one's body knows when you are starting to wind down and just because it was the final few days of winter, mine decided to throw me a frustrating cold. But thankfully after a few days of delightful naps, sleeping in, bundling up and eating yummy meals, I am well on my way to recovering to a healthy me again.
I realise now that taking these kinds of mini breaks really has become something of a must in our crazy busy schedules and lifestyles. And even more so to take a break from the intensive and distracting emails, calls, social media, internet and business demands. We need the time for refueling, the time to refresh and regroup. A few days just to be. To breathe. To live, simply.
Here are some moments from our end-of-winter getaway.
and a new determination to always build towards becoming the best version of ourselves.
Summer is coming, no time to waste!
